J. Patrick’s to Become O’Donnell’s Tavern

On January 10th, popular Locust Point bar J. Patrick’s Pub was sold at auction after closing its doors after New Year’s Eve.  Steve O’Donnell purchased the pub and real estate and has since been renovating the property and the above apartments.  Recently a sign was posted on the exterior of the building that read “O’Donnell’s Tavern December 2013.”  We’ll keep you posted as O’Donnell’s Tavern nears opening.

Oomph Marketing Moves to Federal Hill

Marketing company Oomph Marketing has moved from 2400 Boston St. in the Can Company in Canton to 910 S. Charles St. in Federal Hill.  Oomph’s slogan is “Energy for your brand” and specializes in brand development, digital media and marketing.

photoBar for Lease

801 E. Fort Ave – the former home of Ullswater, Sly Fox and Soigne – was recently approved for a liquor license transfer. The bar now has Green Door Properties signs on the exterior reading “For Lease, Your Restaurant Here.”

No Way Jose Liquor License Transfer

Baltimore Business Journal is reporting that Federal Hill-staple No Way Jose Cafe is requesting a liquor license transfer of ownership as well as an expansion request into the property’s third floor.

New Barber Shop for Federal Hill

Baltimore Business Journal is also reporting that a new barber shop will take over the space vacated by Bill Graves Shoe Repair at 1022 S. Charles St.  Bill Graves Shoe Repair has moved back into Dan Brothers Shoes at  1032 S. Charles St.

New Stores For the Gallery

Downtown Partnership of Baltimore announced on their Facebook page that The Gallery at Harborplace will open two new stores – Michael Kors and Pandora Jewelry – in its downtown mall.

Fat Larry’s Opens Java Joint

Fat Larry’s  Cheesesteaks and Hoagies at 1026 S. Charles St. has used the back room of their restaurant to open Fat Larry’s Java Joint, which opens at 7am daily. From their Facebook page:

We Are Open. LaVazza fresh brewed coffee, Cappuccino, Expresso, Lattes, Frozen Granitas, Smoothies, Iced Coffee, Fresh Brewed Iced Tea, Fresh Fruit and a comfortable out door seating area. Come join us for a really good cup of Java.

    The expansion into the 3rd floor of No Way Jose means no more kitchen. I can only speculate that new ownership will be using the adjacent Ryleigh’s kitchen as McComas hopes to expand and run the small bars out. That will be a major loss for Cross St.

    I’d love to see Bonapart Breads move into the space 801 E. Fort Ave (corner of Jackson Street). They’re a mainstay at the BMI Farmers Market each Saturday. It would be nice for them to have a permanent home in Riverside. That corner seems prime for something great, since the other 3 corners of the intersection have very successful businesses.
