New Sinkhole on Charles Street in Otterbein

| August 17, 2017 | 0 Comments

A sinkhole has emerged on the 500 block of S. Charles St. in Otterbein, adjacent to the 414 Light Street construction. The sinkhole is currently covered with a large metal plate. From Councilman Eric T. Costello last night on Facebook:

There is an emerging sinkhole (actually the opposite) on the 500 block of S Charles St, in between Lee St and Conway St. I have contacted all of the appropriate City agencies. This is due to what appears to be some type of fault with the Veolia steam line underneath S Charles St. I believe there is a good chance the entire block will be shutdown tomorrow AM. Will share more info as it becomes available.

The block is currently open at this time.
