Jamaican-Themed Get It Inn Bar & Restaurant Opens in Locust Point

Get It Inn Bar & Restaurant opened last month at the former Sweet Caroline’s at 1401 E. Clement St. in Locust Point. Get It Inn is a Jamaican restaurant from owners Cassandra and James Samuels.

The menu at Get It Inn features Jamaican dishes such as jerk chicken, pork, and salmon; oxtails; curry goat and chicken; beef patties; brown stew chicken; and fried dumplings. Entrées come with rice, beans, and steamed vegetables. Cassandra Samuels, who is Haitian, said that everything is reasonably priced and the most expensive entrée is $17. She also noted that both chefs at Get It Inn are from Jamaica.

Behind the bar, Get It Inn serves its signature rum punch and Red Stripe beer, along with additional beer, wine, and liquor selections. Get It Inn has a Monday through Friday happy hour with 2-for-1 liquor drinks and a $1 off beers. There are also daily lunch specials offering plates at discounted prices.

Get It Inn also plays reggae and Jamaican music throughout the restaurant.

Cassandra Samuels told SouthBMore.com that they looked for about a year before finding this location. They liked the space in Locust Point because it is in “a nice working class neighborhood that needed something new.” She said that they knew they would get a lot of regulars, and that the neighborhood has been awesome and very welcoming. She also said they’ve been well supported by workers in the area.

The kitchen at Get It Inn is open every day from 11am to 1030pm.

Get It Inn has five employees.
