Owners of Salt to Start New Venture in Locust Point

Baltimore Business Journal is reporting that the owners of Salt in Butchers Hill have purchased 1157 Haubert St. in Locust Point, former home of Down the Hatch, Witty’s and The House. The owners are still determining the restaurant’s concept and aiming to open in spring 2014.

1111.01 FFBetamore Startup Making Moves

Riskive, a cyber security startup in Betamore’s entrepreneurship program, is moving into their own office in 1111 Light Street. Baltimore Business Journal is reporting that Riskive and their 26 employees will be moving one floor down from Betamore into the former 8,000 square foot home of BTS Software Solutions. Tehnical.ly Baltimore is reporting that BTS Software has consolidated their offices to their headquarters in Columbia.

No Limit Communications Opens in Pigtown

In SouthBMore.com’s last Pigtown/SoWeBo Business Roundup, it was reported that a new store would be opening in the former home of ReVamp Variety and House of Elie. It is confirmed that the store is No Limit Communications. Here is the description from their Facebook page:

We specialize in reparing cracked screens..custom cases…etc. all you cell phone needs.

They have one other store at 3330 Greenmount Ave. in Waverly.

Distinction for Masonville Cove 

South Baltimore’s Masonville Cove, a reclaimed urban wilderness conservation area on the Patapsco River featuring 70 acres of water, 54 acres of cleaned-up wetlands and a bird sanctuary, has been named the nation’s first “urban wildlife refuge partnership” by the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation according to the Baltimore Sun. The distinction will kick off with a $55,000 donation from the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation and the Chesapeake Bay Trust.

World of Beer Grand Opening 

McHenry Row’s new restaurant World of Beer has announced their grand opening for October 14th at 11am. It will feature giveaways and live music.
