Federal Hill Holiday Decorating Contest Winners
The third annual Federal Hill Holiday Decorating Contest has brought great holiday cheer to the area. Here is information about the festive competition, which has helped to light up SoBo, from the contest’s website:
The Federal Hill Holiday Decorating Contest began in 2011 as the brainchild of two like minded citizens, Clark W. Griswold, and Eddie, who lived across the street. Both saw an opportunity to build much needed community spirit and foster friendships between neighbors. After all, the holidays are the perfect time to shake people out of their fast paced routine, and get them to talk to one another.
Since then the contest has grown like wild fire, and has proven itself in building neighborhood cheer. Elderly neighbors, who have lived here their whole lives, have stopped by to mention the sense of community spirit is better than they have seen in 60 years. People of all walks of life are found laughing and helping each other string lights. It’s not about the competition, it’s about what it does for those around it.
The winners were announced on Tuesday, December 17th at Little Havana. Make sure to go check these fantastic houses and blocks out!
