Unleashed by Petco to Open in Federal Hill

photoQuiznos closed its doors last week at 1100 Light St. in Federal Hill. Now this space, along with the adjacent space behind it, which was most recently Sign-A-Rama, will become Unleashed by Petco. Unleashed is Petco’s brand of smaller concept pet stores.

The 3,600 square foot Light St. property was formerly a Rite Aid before being split into three retail spaces. The two Light St.-facing stores became a Dunkin’ Donuts, which will remain open in its space, and the Quiznos, which was bought out of the remainder of its lease. The Cross St.-facing space has been vacant for multiple years after Sign-A-Rama left for Fells Point in late 2012.

The property is owned by developer Mark Sapperstein, who also developed McHenry Row and The Shops at Canton Crossing. “Unleashed is so excited to be in Federal Hill and they can’t wait to get started,” said Sapperstein. Unleashed is hoping to open its doors in September.

Unleased will also be opening a store at the soon-to-be completed Marketplace at Fells Point.
