Share Kitchen Coming to McHenry Row in Locust Point
Chefs Nikki Marks and Brian Mathias are opening a 3,000 sq. ft. commercial kitchen called Share Kitchen on the first floor of the Banner Building in McHenry Row. Marks owns the MindGrub Café food truck, formerly Madame BBQ, and Mathias owns Bistro Lunch Box. Marks is also the owner of Madame Cours de Cuisine where she teaches cooking classes to students in the Baltimore area.
Marks discovered the commercial space along with her husband Todd Marks, who is the president and CEO of MindGrub, a fast-growing technology company located in a 13,000 sq. ft. office in the upstairs of the Banner Building. She described the building as “awesome” and said she loves working with McHenry Row developer Mark Sapperstein.
The space features original concrete columns and floors from its original use as a Coca-Cola factory.
Marks and Mathias will use Share Kitchen to prep for their food trucks and are looking to lease additional space at the venue to another food truck. The team is also finalizing a deal with another Baltimore food business and are looking to partner with additional food businesses.
Share Kitchen’s space is next door to Diamondback Brewing Company’s taproom and brewery, which opens this weekend. Marks joked their space is “beer front.” They will be partnering with Diamondback to offer food orders for customers at the brewery and will help book food trucks for weekend taproom hours. They will also be offering a mobile app so workers at the more than 300,000 sq. ft. office space at McHenry Row can place lunch orders for pickup or delivery.
Share Kitchen also sits across the street from an under-construction, 224-unit apartment building at McHenry Row.
Share Kitchen will have farm tables which can be used for prepping food or for hosting guests at events. The space is currently under construction and Marks said they hope to open in mid-January.
