New Locations for Federal Hill Businesses

Three businesses that started in Federal Hill have added new locations. Mi & Yu Noodle Bar will open its third location in Hampden at The Rotunda in the fall. The new 1,230 sq. ft. restaurant will offer beer and wine. Mi & Yu opened its second location last year at Mount Vernon Marketplace.

Women’s clothing store Brightside Boutique announced on Facebook it is opening a third location in Hampden at 915 W. 36th St. Its second location is in Fell’s Point. The Hampden location will also sell men’s clothing and goods.

Pure Raw Juice opened a second location at 6809 York Rd. in Towson in December.

Prime Real Estate Heads to Auction

1100 S. Charles St. will head to an Alex Coopers Auctioneers Inc. auction on April 13th at 12pm, according to Baltimore Business Journal. The large property comprised of a former auto body shop, a rowhome with a storefront and an apartment, and a parking lot has been the site of two restaurant proposals that did not come to fruition. Michael’s Café pulled out of a deal in 2013 to build a new restaurant and event space at the property, and a proposal for Federales fell through around 2010 after the parties failed to reach a lease agreement.

Potential Partnership for Under Armour and Real Madrid

The Baltimore Sun reported that Under Armour could soon have an apparel deal with soccer-powerhouse Real Madrid. From the article:

Under Armour is in negotiations with soccer powerhouse Real Madrid on a possible sponsorship deal, a Spanish sports newspaper says.

A deal to replace Adidas at the Spanish megaclub would significantly boost Under Armour’s presence in the coveted European market and could be one of the richest deals of its kind.

Asked about the report, Under Armour said it didn’t have a spokesperson available to comment.

Adidas has sponsored Real Madrid since 1998, according to Marca, the newspaper.

Real Madrid includes a star-studded lineup with players such as Cristiano Ronaldo, James Rodriquez, and Gareth Bale.

Ronnie Stanley and His Dog from BARCS to Appear on Animal Planet

Last year, Ronnie Stanley, offensive lineman for the Ravens, visited BARCS in South Baltimore and said, “We are looking for a dog that’s been here a long time and is maybe not-so-adoptable.” He adopted 6-year old Winter, which he renamed Lola, and the story was shared on Facebook and went viral.

Stanley and Lola’s story will get more national attention now as Animal Planet’s “Stars to the Rescue” will be featuring the duo this Saturday at 8pm.
