Share Kitchen Opens in McHenry Row, Serves Food at Diamondback Brewing

| August 21, 2017 | 0 Comments

Share Kitchen has opened in a 3,000 sq. ft. space in the first floor of the Banner Building at McHenry Row. The shared commercial kitchen is owned by chefs Nikki Marks and Brian Mathias. Marks owns the MindGrub Café food truck, formerly Madame BBQ, and Mathias owns Bistro Lunch Box. Marks is also the owner of Madame Cours de Cuisine where she teaches cooking classes to students in the Baltimore area.

Marks discovered the commercial space with her husband Todd Marks, who is the president and CEO of MindGrub, a fast-growing technology company located in a 18,000 sq. ft. office in the upstairs of the Banner Building. Share Kitchen features a 90 sq. ft. walk-in refrigerator, commercial appliances, prep tables, storage, a large farm table, and couches. The space has concrete ceilings, columns, and floors that date back to when the building was used by Coca-Cola.

Joining Marks and Mathias at the commercial kitchen are Au Jus Solutions, a consulting company for the food industry; Rack House Bakers, whose flagship item is a whiskey cake made with Sagamore Spirit; and food truck WOLO. Share Kitchen has room to accommodate additional businesses.

Along with using the commercial kitchen for the food businesses, Share Kitchen will also provide a nightly menu at Diamondback Brewing Company’s tap room, which is located right next door. Currently a member of Share Kitchen is taking orders at Diamondback, but a digital kiosk will be installed in the future for patrons to use to order food. Marks told SouthBMore.com that chefs at Share Kitchen will take turns creating a weekly menu.

Share Kitchen will also host private dining events and Marks will be using the space to host cooking classes for kids and adults.

Marks is working with 28 Walker, the owner of McHenry Row, to book food trucks at Share Kitchen on Fridays and during events.
