Soft Shell Sandwich at Nick’s Fish House

Nick’s Fish House is now a two-time winner of SouthBMore’s Best Seafood and the current winner of Best Outdoor Dining. I recently experienced both of these accolades when I had the Softshell Crab Sandwich while on Nick’s outdoor deck on the Middle Branch. The soft shell was large and fresh, and perfectly fried on top of a ciabatta roll. It came with aioli, lettuce, tomato, and house-made chips. It was a great sandwich and the quality you would expect while dining on the water in Baltimore.

Ahi Tuna Wrap at Wiley Gunters

During a recent visit to Wiley Gunters, I was excited to see quite a few menu options involving ahi tuna. I opted for the Ahi Tuna Wrap, which featured seared rare tuna, fresh avocado, mixed greens, and a cool wasabi ranch. The tuna was fresh and tasty, and the toppings accented it just right. The wrap also came with Wiley Gunters’ fresh cut fries which are addicting with their delicious crab seasoning flavor.

Wrap at Southside Diner

Southside Diner recently won SouthBMore’s Best Breakfast and is a great Locust Point staple. On a recent trip I opted for lunch, though, which they also do quite well. I ordered the Chicken Greek Wrap which includes chicken breast, lettuce, tomato, red onion, and house-made Greek dressing. The chicken was great and the dressing added a nice zest to all the accompanying ingredients.

Salad Pizza at &pizza

&pizza is a great spot to get a custom pizza very quickly. Last time I got the Salad Pizza, which is ideal if you are looking to eat pizza and greens at the same time. On this pie, &pizza’s thin crust is topped with olive oil, romaine, basil pesto, cucumber, tomato, shredded mozzarella, ranch, and pickled red onion. I also added some chicken.

It was a great combination of fresh flavors, and too much food for me to finish alone.

Buffet at Kumari

Looking to load up on a quick lunch? The Indian and Nepalese buffet at Kumari is a great option. They always have a good selection with items such as chicken tikka masala, tandoori chicken, fried fish, rice, shrimp, naan, and vegetarian options. It’s all really good.

Make sure to save room for dessert and get the gulab jamun.
