Questar announced the topping-out of 414 Light Street, its luxury apartment building that is currently under construction in Otterbein/Inner Harbor. The 44-story tower has reached its final height of 500 feet, making it the tallest residential tower in the state of Maryland. 414 Light Street has the most floors of any building in Baltimore and will be the third tallest building in the city just behind the Transamerica Tower, which stands at 528 ft., and 10 Light Street at 509 ft.

The 658,128 sq. ft. building will include 394 apartments, 40,000 sq. ft. of outdoor and indoor amenity space, 12,300 sq. ft. of ground floor retail space, and a 550-car parking garage. The site was formerly a McCormick & Company spice factory, and each of the building’s 41 floor plans will be named after a spice. Amenities will include an elevated park with a 16 ft. dual-sided movie screen, a pet park, a pool, a fitness center, and a resident salon.

The first apartment units are expected to be ready in March 2018. No retail announcements have been made at this time.

“Throughout the construction of 414 Light Street, we have paid close attention to every detail to ensure that everything from the smallest design decision to the overall impression would be first class,” said Stephen Gorn, chairman and CEO of Questar, in a press release. “As we celebrate the completion of the tower reaching its final height, we are thrilled to soon introduce a new standard for luxury living in Baltimore.”

Nearly 350 construction workers have dedicated approximately 790,000 work hours to 414 Light Street to date, according to Questar.
