Limoncello Italian Restaurant & Wine Bar Coming to Anthem House in Locust Point

A third new restaurant has been announced for Anthem House in Locust Point as Limoncello Italian Restaurant & Wine Bar will be opening late this summer. It will be located at the corner retail space on Lawrence St. that faces the Inner Harbor. Limoncello will join the under-construction Amber and Jazz + Soju restaurants at the $100-million apartment building that celebrated its grand opening in July.

Limoncello serves authentic Italian food inspired by Southern Italy and the Amalfi Coast. The restaurant will seat 120 people in its “casual and approachable” setting. The menu offers fresh seafood, homemade pastas, and authentic Neapolitan pizzas made in a wood-fired oven. The wine bar will have mostly Italian wines in addition to an extensive and handcrafted cocktail list, including signature cocktails made with Limoncello.

This will be Limoncello’s first Baltimore area location and second in Maryland. The first location in St. Michaels opened in September 2016 by Ivano Scotto and Gennaro DiBenedetto. Limoncello St. Michaels was named “Where to Eat” by the Washingtonian City Guide: How to Spend a Weekend in St. Michaels. It also has a 4.5 star rating on Yelp.

“We just fell in love with the building,” said Scotto in a press release. “The building is a landmark in Baltimore. Everything about it: the name, the look, the glamour, the technology. You can see it from across the city. We love the concept and what it represents. We also felt that there was a void for what we were doing in Locust Point.”

“We are thrilled that Ivano Scotto and Gennaro DiBenedetto have chosen Anthem House for their first Baltimore area location,” said John Pezzulla, Vice President of Retail Assets for The Bozzuto Group, in a press release. “It will be a terrific addition to the Locust Point community and a great, convenient onsite authentic Italian restaurant for our residents.”

The nine-story Anthem House includes 292 apartments, 449 parking spaces, and 20,000 sq. ft. of ground floor retail. The retail will also include a 3,000 sq. ft. fitness studio for The Bar Method; Amber, which is a 2,000 sq. ft. coffee and craft beer restaurant; and Jazz + Soju, a 2,3210 sq. ft. restaurant and bar which will focus on Korean fried chicken and soju. More retail tenants will be announced in the future.
