Hamilton Bank announced last week that its Pigtown branch will relocate from 764 Washington Blvd. to 788 Washington Blvd., just 164 feet west of its current location. The new first-floor, approximately-900 sq. ft. location will open at the end of March.

788 Washington Blvd. is the former home of HomeFree USA, which relocated to a smaller space on the block, and Carousel Cleaners and Gallery 788.

In a press release Hamilton Bank said, “the new space features an open floor plan and updated technology that allows customers to bank in a more meaningful way. Originally home to a Savings & Loan during the early 1900s, we are proud to restore this historic Pigtown building as it is a wonderful combination of the past and future.”

The new location will have a full-service, walk-up ATM available in an enclosed vestibule.

“Hamilton Bank’s state of the art branch will bring modern banking conveniences to Pigtown, including a full-service ATM,” said Ben Hyman, executive director of Pigtown Main Street, in a press release. “Hamilton Bank’s investment continues a positive streak for our Main Street. Over the past twelve months, we’ve welcomed nine new businesses and hundreds of thousands in new investment.”

Hamilton Bank’s current property was recently sold in January to a developer for $830,000. The 30,579 sq. ft. property features a 10,663 sq. ft., two-story building with a drive-through and a large lot currently used for 32-car parking. The developer could not be reached for comment at this time.
