Riverside Park Pool Opening Delayed Due to Unexpected Repairs

From Councilman Eric T. Costello:

Update on Riverside Park Pool not being open, from Baltimore Recnparks:

“Dear Councilman Costello, we have been working hard to get every pool in the city open for the Big Splash on June 23. Unfortunately some things happened beyond our control and we could not get Riverside up in time.

Please see details below:

The pool pump room flooded May 25 as a gate valve failed while attempting to fill the pool. We are working with a Contractor and BGE to make a repair.

The transformer will be delivered along with the main 600 amp load center around 6/27 – 6/28. The smaller load centers and water heater disconnect will be installed today 6/22 and 6/25. Bluestar hopes to be completed by 6/29. BGE is checking their transformers and cables.

We will then fill the pool and check the status of the pool motors. If no repairs are required for the motors, the pool should be operable in a few days afterwards. I will update you as soon as I know more.”
