Bunzzz Sports Bar & Grill Opens at the Inner Harbor
Bunzzz Sports Bar & Grill opened last month at 200 E. Pratt St. at the Inner Harbor. Bunzzz takes the place of Brooks Brothers in a 7,200 sq. ft. retail space in the Gallery at Harborplace. The retail space has an entrance in the first floor of the mall and along E. Pratt St. Brooks Brothers relocated to Harbor East.
Bunzzz is a new concept from the wife and husband duo of Angela Washington-Tallitsch and Bernar Tallitsch. Washington-Tallitsch worked for many years as a manger at Cheesecake Factory before most recently working in interior design and health and wellness. Tallitsch has experience in the hospitality industry, but currently works in IT architecture.
Washington-Tallitsch told SouthBMore.com they wanted to create the type of everyday sports bar they would want to go to. She said the idea has been in the works for about five years and the build-out to convert the former store to a restaurant took more than a year.
The Ellicott City natives looked at Towson and other parts of Baltimore before focusing in on the Inner Harbor location. They were attracted to the amount of foot traffic in the area and the proximity to hotels, apartments and condominiums, office buildings, the Baltimore Convention Center, and the stadiums. They hope Bunzzz will attract a mix of tourists, Downtown workers, and locals.
Washington-Tallitsch said they have already been networking with concierges at local hotels and apartment and condo buildings, as well as meeting with local businesses to spread the word about Bunzzz. The restaurant shares 200 E. Pratt St. with the mall, a large office tower, and the Renaissance Baltimore Harborplace Hotel.
The interior of Bunzzz features a large four-sided center bar and several dining areas including an elevated area looking out to the Inner Harbor. Bunzzz has a red and black decor and features sports-themed pictures on the walls.
The bar is surrounded by 32 televisions stacked in two rows. There are also televisions outside and in the bathrooms, as well as four additional televisions in the private dining room that seats 25. The private dining room can accommodate company events, birthday parties, viewing parties, and private dinners.
Washington-Tallitsch said customers will be able to watch just about any televised game. They will put the sound on for big events like Ravens games, MMA and boxing matches, and big college football games.
Bunzzz is also looking forward to baseball season and has already been hosting the broadcast of the Orioles Hot Stove Show on 105.7 The Fan. This broadcast takes place Thursdays from 6pm to 7pm at the front of the restaurant.
As the name indicates, the Bunzzz menu focuses on sandwiches in which customers can choose brioche, onion ciabatta, pretzel, classic, or gluten-free buns. Selections include Angus beef burgers with a variety of topping combinations, turkey burgers, a vegan burger, chicken sandwiches, and a rib-eye sandwich.
The Bunzzz menu also features some local flare with items including crab cakes, crab dip, a crab spud loaded baked potato with a crab cake inside, a creamy Maryland crab chowder, and crab and shrimp pasta.
Bunzzz also serves regular and gluten-free pizzas, soups, salads, entrees, sides, and appetizers including a variety of wings, calamari, chicken tenders, and nachos. Bunzzz additionally offers a kids menu and desserts. Washington-Tallitsch said everything on the menu is at an affordable price.
The kitchen is led by chef Justin Holloman.
Behind the bar is 20 draft beer lines along with a selection of wine and liquor. Bunzz also has a cocktail menu with 18 selections.
Bunzzz offers daily food and drink specials as well as happy hour on Monday to Friday from 3pm to 7pm. Food delivery is available though uberEats, GrubHub, and Door Dash.
Bunzzz opens everyday at 1030am and stays open until 10pm on Sunday to Thursday and 130am on Friday and Saturday.
Bunzzz has 25 employees and hires its own off-duty police for additional security.
