New Entrances to Allow Kids to Dine at Giada De Laurentiis’ and Guy Fieri’s Restaurants at Horseshoe Casino Baltimore
When Giada De Laurentiis signed on with Caesars to open a restaurant at Horseshoe Casino Baltimore, she was disappointed to learn children would not be able to dine with their parents at the restaurant because of Maryland casino laws that have an age restriction of 21. To get around this, restaurants in the casino would need a separate entrance or walkway so individuals under 21 could avoid stepping foot on the gaming floor. De Laurentiis pushed for this and it will likely become a reality by this weekend.
De Laurentiis’ GDL Italian is located on the second floor of the casino which can be entered via a skywalk from the parking garage. Caesars is building a walkway with a half wall so diners can head right to GDL Italian before the security checkpoint for the gaming floor. The new wall will be designed and branded in the style of GDL Italian. The restaurant will also be getting its own dedicated bathrooms so diners don’t have to enter the gaming floor.
Guy Fieri’s Baltimore Kitchen + Bar is located on the first floor of Horseshoe off to the right from the security check point of the Warner St. entrance. Caesars is building an additional walkway for Guy Fieri’s so diners can avoid the gaming floor and security check point when they visit the restaurant. It will also be getting new dedicated bathrooms.
Gordon Ramsay Steak is located adjacent to the Warner St. entrance, so minors have always been allowed at this restaurant since it has an entrance before the gaming floor security checkpoint.
Children will still not be allowed at Fú Noodle House or the Baltimore Marketplace food court due to their locations in the casino. Fieri also has Guy’s Bar-B-Que Joint at Baltimore Marketplace.
Horseshoe Casino Baltimore Vice President of Marketing Tom Yorke told SouthBMore.com, “this is definitely something our customers have been asking us for.” He added, “We are happy you can take your whole family out with your comp dollars. Both restaurants will have kids menus.”
The Baltimore Marketplace has two vacancies as Heavy Seas Burger and B’more Chicken & Donuts recently closed. There are no announcements of replacements at this time but Yorke said, “hopefully in the next few months.”
Horseshoe recently added virtual sports simulator Topgolf swing suites to the second floor. Users can play Topgolf Target, Quarterback Challenge, Hockey Shots, Baseball Pitching, and more. Topgolf will be building a 65,000 sq. ft. facility on one of Horseshoe Casino Baltimore owner CBAC’s properties on Warner St. Yorke noted the suites will remain once Topgolf opens.
