Major Byron Conaway Named New Commander of the Southern District, Monique Brown Promoted to Lieutenant Colonel

The Southern District of the Baltimore Police Department is under new leadership after the promotion of former Commander Monique Brown to Lieutenant Colonel. Major Byron Conaway is now the Commander of the Southern District.

Lieutenant Colonel Brown is now leading the Neighborhood Services Unit. She took over as Commander of the Southern District in February 2018. Major Conaway will move from Colonel to Major, leaving his post as Chief of Criminal Investigation.
