The Inner Harbor Ice Rink Opens Tomorrow

Waterfront Partnership press release:

Waterfront Partnership will officially open the Inner Harbor Ice Rink sponsored by the Joseph & Harvey Meyerhoff Family Charitable Funds during a celebration tomorrow evening , November 1, at 5:30 p.m. that will feature remarks by Mayor Bernard “Jack” C. Young, a Believe in Music youth performance and disco-themed ice skaters. The first 100 children at tomorrow night’s event will enjoy free ice-skating and skate rental, and the celebration will also include cupcakes, hot chocolate, groovy tunes and disco lights.

The 2019-2020 season, which runs from November 1, 2019 through January 20, 2020, starts two weeks earlier than it has in previous years to coincide with the Baltimore Office Promotion of the Arts’ Brilliant Baltimore Festival of Light & Literature.

“We are so excited to be bringing back the ice rink this season with special thanks to the Joseph & Harvey Meyerhoff Family Charitable Funds. Opening two weeks earlier means there is more time for families, friends and loved ones to make memories on the ice and enjoy Baltimore’s waterfront,” said Laurie Schwartz, president of the Waterfront Partnership.

Located at the top of the Amphitheater at the Inner Harbor, the ice rink will be open daily through January 20, 2020, complimenting many seasonal and holiday activities along the waterfront including the Christmas Village at West Shore Park, the City’s New Year’s Eve Spectacular and more. The Waterfront Partnership has planned various special events and programming throughout the season. Regular hours of operation are Monday through Thursday, 12:00-10:00pm, Friday, 12:00-11:00pm, Saturday, 10:00am-11:00pm, and Sunday, 10:00am-8:00pm.

The rink is made possible through the generous support of the Joseph & Harvey Meyerhoff Family Charitable Funds as well as Waterfront Partnership, Constellation Energy, Mindgrub, Baltimore City Department of Recreation and Parks, Baltimore Development Corporation and Baltimore City Department of Transportation.

The Penguin Pad returns this year courtesy of Constellation Energy. Relax in the Adirondack chairs, kick back, and enjoy the waterfront views, while warming up for another lap around the ice.
