The Price Rite at Mount Clare Junction in Pigtown was rebranded as Price Rite Marketplace and hosted its grand opening on Friday. The 38,843 sq. ft. grocery store stayed open during the transition as the space was being remodeled.

Price Rite is a New Jersey-based company that has been rebranding its stores around the country. The company said customers can expect “bright, revitalized  décor, including a market-style produce department brimming with fresh fruit, vegetables and organics, and the new ‘Drop Zone’ stocked with special surprise buys on must-have grocery items.” It also said, “Unique new private label and organic products can also be found on shelves and lower prices extend across hundreds of items.”

The company additionally stated: “The new Price Rite Marketplace offers a wider selection of Wholesome Pantry private label products, with free-from, organic, and gluten-free options; plus, a double-your-money-back guarantee on Price Rite Marketplace brand products. High-quality affordable meats, with brands such as Certified Angus® Beef, Perdue’s No Antibiotics Ever Chicken, Wholesome Pantry organic chicken, and Oasis Halal, are also part of the many “Fresh New Finds!” at the rebranded stores.”

Price Rite opened at Mount Clare Junction in 2013. The store is located in Pigtown, but sits within a block of Hollins Market, Mount Clare, and Union Square.

Mount Clare Junction has 35 existing businesses and eight available suites, according to a DLC Management Corp. brochure.
