Snug & Evil Tavern Closes in Locust Point

| November 19, 2019 | 0 Comments

Snug & Evil Tavern at 1401 Decatur St. in Locust Point closed at the end of October. It was open for five years.

A sign on the door reads, “Sorry we are closed indefinitely. Thanks for supporting us over the years. We ❤️ U LP.”

Snug & Evil was a neighborhood bar serving pizza and tacos. It got its name from a line in an E. E. Cummings poem that was written while Cummings was sitting in a famous Irish saloon in Manhattan, McSorley’s Old Ale House.

Snug & Evil is the third restaurant to close in Locust Point in recent weeks. The other two are EarthShake, which also has a location in Fells Point, and Love at First Bite, which relocated to Frankfort.

Italian restaurant Limoncello opened in recent weeks at Anthem House in Locust Point. Peppa Flame, located next door to Snug & Evil, and Serenity Wine Bar also opened over the summer.
