Second Chance Uses Russell Street Sign to Make Joke about the Houston Astros

| January 24, 2020 | 0 Comments

The Houston Astros’ sign-stealing scandal made numerous headlines in recent weeks as it was revealed the team used a camera system in the 2017 and 2018 seasons to steal the pitching signs from opposing teams. This resulted in a $5-million fine, the loss of draft picks, and the suspension of the team’s manager and general manager, who were both later fired. The managers of the Boston Red Sox and New York Mets were also fired for their connection to those Astros’ teams.

Second Chance Inc., which has a highly-visible sign on Russell St. as cars exit the city, used the Astros’ cheating scandal to take a jab at the team. Its sign reads: “Had a funny sign planned but the Astros stole it!”
