Saturday Night Online Dance Party to Raise Money for the Ulman Foundation

| April 17, 2020 | 0 Comments

Baltimore-area DJ Chris Kopec has been hosting virtual dance parties on Facebook Live as social distancing continues during the COVID-19 pandemic. The parties, which are aired from Kopec’s basement, have attracted more than 6 million views and have raised money for local causes. This Saturday’s dance party will benefit Locust Point’s Ulman Foundation.

An anonymous donor inspired by Kopec’s efforts has pledged $25,000 to Ulman. Listeners will be invited to donate to match this gift with a total fundraising goal of $50,000. Donations can be made on Facebook on April 18, and at https://give.ulmanfoundation.org/dj-kopec/Donate.

People can visit Kopec’s page to attend the party.

Founded in 1997 by cancer advocate Doug Ulman, the Ulman Foundation creates a community of support for young adults (aged 15-39), and their loved ones, impacted by cancer. It fills a void for adolescents and young adults who are too mature for pediatric-focused programs, and who are rarely established enough to have a dependable network of peers who have faced a similar experience.

The Ulman Foundation is providing continuous services for adolescents and young adult cancer patients through the COVID-19 crisis.
