Bright Horizons Closes Daycare Center at Tide Point in Locust Point

After nine years in Locust Point’s Tide Point complex, the Bright Horizons daycare center has closed its doors.

In a June 12th email to the parents of the daycare center, Bright Horizons said:

Like you, we have been monitoring developments related to COVID-19 and making the best possible decisions based on the information available. With this in mind, Bright Horizons has made the difficult decision not to reopen Bright Horizons at Tide Point.  Our center has supported childcare needs in the community for over 9 years, however due to the impact of COVID-19 and low demand, the center is unable to operate at a sustainable financial level.

It also said the teachers “will have the full support of our Human Resources and Recruiting teams.”

Bright Horizons is a chain with locations throughout the United States.

Tide Point is owned by Under Armour and serves as the headquarters for the sportswear company. SouthBMore.com reached out to Under Armour to see if the company plans on adding another daycare center to the space, but has not heard back at this time.
