Fresh Cleaners and Hair Cuttery Close at McHenry Row, NovaCare Relocating to the Shopping Center
With the COVID-19 pandemic ongoing, there continues to be retail closures and changes at McHenry Row in Locust Point. New closures at the shopping center now include Hair Cuttery and Fresh Cleaners, which join the recently-closed World of Beer and The Urban Oyster. McHenry Row is adding one new business as NovaCare Rehabilitation is relocating to a newly-created retail suite.
Hair Cuttery’s parent company Creative Hairdressers filed for bankruptcy in April and began selling off many of its salon locations to HC Holdings Inc. Many Hair Cuttery locations have closed throughout the country and the McHenry Row location is now joining that list. The location was under a “temporary closure” when the pandemic led to salon restrictions in Maryland and never reopened.
Fresh Cleaners has another location at The Shops at Canton Crossing, which is also owned by McHenry Row owner 28 Walker.
Both Hair Cuttery and Fresh Cleaners were original tenants of McHenry Row which opened in 2012.
Jay Sapperstein of 28 Walker told SouthBMore.com that both spaces will likely be filled with similar uses.
The Fresh Cleaners, Hair Cuttery, The Urban Oyster, and World of Beer retail suites are all listed for lease with Alex Shearer of KLNB. This is the first time there have been multiple vacancies at McHenry Row in its eight years.
Massage Envy, which is temporarily closed, is reducing the size of its retail space which makes room for a new retail suite for NovaCare. NovaCare had a Locust Point/Riverside location at Southside Marketplace that closed in recent months. Its space was replaced by ATI Physical Therapy.
