Man Charged with Attempted Murder After Sharp-Leadenhall Brick Attack
An arrest has been made in a violent brick attack that occurred last month in Sharp-Leadenhall. The incident was caught on video and went viral.

On September 1, 2020 an adult male was assaulted in the 100 block of W. Hamburg Street when an unknown male struck him in the back of the head with a brick.
Detectives investigated this incident and were able to positively identify the suspect.
On October 2, 2020 at approximately 7:00 A.M., members of BPD’s Warrant Task Force arrested the suspect, 69 year-old Kenneth Burke at his home on W. Conway Street, without incident.Mr. Burke was transported to the Southern District where he was interviewed by detectives and confessed to the assault, saying that he and the victim are previous acquaintances, and that the two were having a dispute.
Kenneth Burke was then transported to Central Booking where he has been charged with 1st Degree Attempted Murder.
Currently, Mr. Burke is waiting to see a court commissioner.
