Franklin’s Market and Mulberry’s Bar Open in Hollins Market

Two new businesses, Franklin’s Market and Mulberry’s Bar, have opened inside the newly-renovated Hollins Market at 26 Arlington Ave. Both concepts are from The Back Yard co-owners Lara Sumerson and Mike Cavanagh.

While offering a wide variety of sundries, Franklin’s Market will also feature local products from vendors such as Dear Globe Coffee, Trial by Fire Candles, Secret Sauce Co., Mount Vernon Soap Company, Cane Mixers, and Ms. Cook Therapy. Franklin’s will also have an extensive selection of wine and craft beers available for take out.

Given the current Baltimore City COVID-19 restrictions, Mulberry’s Bar will focus on providing take-out options including more than 36 craft beers, fresh-pressed crushes, 24 wines, and a seasonal cocktail menu. House-made soups, sandwiches, seasonal specialties, and brats will also be available for take out from Mulberry’s.

Once the restrictions are lifted, indoor dining will be available at Mulberry’s and throughout Hollins Market. Mulberry’s will also offer regular special nights including raw oysters on Fridays.

“My partner, Mike Cavanagh, and I are committed to providing for our Hollins Market neighborhood and to enhancing its vitality and the quality of life for residents,” said Sumerson in a press release. “We look forward to adding more local vendors and continuing to expand our offerings while adapting to the new climate for retail and restaurants created by the pandemic.”

This coming Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 4pm each day, Sumerson and other Hollins Market merchants will host The Just Call Me Chef Holiday Takeover inside the market. It will include food from local chefs as well as holiday gifts for purchase.
