Commercial Utilities is relocating from Hanover, MD to 614 W. Patapsco Ave. in Cherry Hill. The South Baltimore property features a 2.72 acre storage yard and two buildings. The buildings include a 7,500 sq. ft. warehouse with maintenance bays and a one-story, 2,400 sq. ft. building which will become offices for Commercial Utilities.

Commercial Utilities provides a range of comprehensive civil construction solutions to municipal and private sector clients. It specializes in underground utility infrastructure.

Commercial real estate broker Jim Chivers, who is vice president of Gold and Company, assisted in the transaction.

Commercial Utilities will renovate the buildings at 614 W. Patapsco Ave. and use the yard to store its equipment. Powell Trucking will continue to be a tenant on the property and utilize a portion of the yard.

The move to Baltimore City will allow Commercial Utilities to have a central location with easy access to the city and main interstates.

“The Commercial Utilities team is excited to expand our footprint in Baltimore City and we look forward to the renovation and move to our new corporate home,” said Ron Adolph, president of Commercial Utilities, in a press release.

In recent years, Copart, a publicly-traded online auction company, purchased several properties adjacent to 614 W. Patapsco Ave., totaling more than 47 acres.

“Baltimore remains one of the most active industrial real estate markets,” said Chivers in a press release. “With warehouse spaces and new distribution buildings in high demand, we are constantly talking to construction companies with a need for yard space.”
