New Restaurant and Apartment Replacing the Former Ronnie’s in South Baltimore

| June 14, 2021 | 0 Comments

The former Ronnie’s Sub Shop at 1 W. Barney St. closed in late 2019 after it was purchased by Iconic Builders. Since closing, Iconic Builders has been renovating the property to bring a new three-bedroom apartment and restaurant space to the South Baltimore community.

Iconic Builders Managing Partner Josh Reznick told SouthBMore.com they are currently searching for a restaurant partner. “We believe the design and broad signage would be perfect for “handfoods” and restaurants that specialize in delivery and neighborhoods where people can walk up and grab their foods to go. Additionally, the restaurant will be turn-key for the new lessor where all equipment and construction will be provided by Iconic,” he said.

The restaurant will have just a few countertop seats on the inside and there will be outdoor seating opportunities on the sidewalks on S. Charles St. and W. Barney St. Ronnie’s former beer and wine license will be available to the restaurant partner.

Iconic Builders added a third-story addition to the property and the two upper floors now have a three-bedroom, three-bathroom apartment with a rooftop deck.

This is the third renovation on the 1800 block of S. Charles St. for Iconic Builders in recent years.
