Domino Sugar Light Show and Sign Relighting Scheduled for July 4th

Domino Sugar is relighting its new sign for the first time on the 4th of July. The lights will go on for the first time at 930pm.

A light show with two eight-minute increments will precede the sign relighting. The show will run from approximately 915pm to 930pm and will be visible from anywhere with a view of the sign.

Domino began a $2-million project in March to replace its nearly 70-year-old neon sign with an LED replica. The new 70 ft. by 120 ft. sign was created and installed by Baltimore-based Gable. The new letters and outline are now made of aluminum instead of steel, and the lighting is advanced LED with flexible tubing.

The former steel letters were donated to Second Chance, and the dot in the ā€œiā€ was donated to Baltimore Museum of Industry to display at the Decker Gallery. Second Chance will put the letters up for sale, but will likely keep one of the letters for its showroom.
