Downtown Hotel to Become Apartments

The Embassy Suites Inner Harbor Hotel at 222 St. Paul St. Downtown is the latest building in the Central Business District that will convert to apartments. From Baltimore Business Journal:

Downtown Baltimore’s Embassy Suites Inner Harbor Hotel and its companion property The Grand have sold for $18 million to Washington, D.C.-based investors who have proposed converting the 300-room hotel into an apartment tower.

Urban Investment Partners Cos., or UIP Inc., has nearly reached its goal of raising $11.6 million in equity capital to launch a conversion of the 37-story tower into a multi-family hub. The deadline to raise the capital is July 21, said Steve Schwat, founder of UIP on Wednesday, and the proposal to investors highlighted the property’s location in a federal opportunity zone.

“We looked at a lot of properties in Baltimore and we particularly liked this because it was originally apartments before it converted to a hotel,” Schwat said. “So it will be much less invasive and less expensive to turn it back into apartments.”

beaters2grails Closes in Pigtown, Relocates Services to Federal Hill

Sneaker laundry and repair shop beaters2grails has closed its storefront at 761 Washington Blvd. in Pigtown, but has relocated its services to its sister shop 9/10 Condition Sneaker Boutique at 1123 Light St.

From 9/10 Condition Sneaker Boutique social media:

So unfortunately we’ve made a decision to close down our @beaters2grails Washington Blvd location 😔 we tried to make it work but we just had to come to the realization that we can’t FORCE something into working as a business if it isn’t making sense. Trust us we are extremely sad to have to do this BUT we have made the necessary arrangements to continue to offer shoe cleanings to our customers. We have remodeled and extended 9/10 Condition Sneaker Boutique’s sales floor to accommodate a section in the back for Beaters 2 Grails to continue to operate but at our current location here on Light Street. So with that being said we have redone our sales floor and we couldn’t be more happy on how it is laid out. We now have all of the shoes NEW & PREOWNED here at our location. We must let everyone know there are A LOT of shoes we couldn’t post that are now available here , so the best way to find out what we have on hand is to COME INSIDE THE STORE AND LOOK 👀 there is some HEAT available if you can see in the pics ! Brand New Shoes are to the left and in cases Preowned/ VNDS / Tried on is to the right as you enter , but here are some pics so you can see our new layout ! COME CHECK US OUT ASAP so you can see all the new shoes that are available but we didn’t have a chance to post on our page ! As you can see we also have all of the arcades available here for everyone to enjoy FOR FREE to play. We want to thank all of our customers for the support that you constantly give us and we can’t wait for you to come in and see our new layout ! THANK YOU 💯💯
