Before and After Photos of Retail Facade Improvements in SoWeBo

| August 17, 2021 | 0 Comments

Southwest Partnership has helped business owners and commercial properties owners improve facades around Southwest Baltimore since 2019. Southwest Partnership works alongside Baltimore Development Corporation (BDC) on this effort and has received funding from the State of Maryland.

BDC offers matching grants of up to $7,500 for facade improvements, meaning for each dollar a business invests in a facade, BDC will match it. Southwest Partnership can cover half of the owner’s $7,500, so business owners could have 75 percent of a $15,000 facade improvement covered by grant funds.

Southwest Partnership also offers grants of up to $20,000 for property and business owners located on W. Baltimore St.

Southwest Partnership Executive Director Tony Scott noted however that oftentimes the cost of facade improvements can exceed the $15,000 or $20,000 covered by the grant programs.
