Korean rice bowl and steam bun stall Rice Crook has closed at Cross Street Market in Federal Hill. Rice Crook opened in 2019 and was the first to occupy its stall in the renovated Cross Street Market.

On October 15th, Rice Crook said on its Facebook page: “Very sad to announce that we are permanently closed.”

Owner Scott Chung told SouthBMore.com, “it’s unfortunate, but the pandemic took a big toll on our business out there when we were still trying to establish ourselves.”

Rice Crook’s sister business, Bun’d Up, still has three locations around Washington, D.C.

The Cross Street Market management team told SouthBMore.com two new concepts will open next month and announcements will be coming soon.

Recent closures at Cross Street Market include Rooster & Hen, Annoula’s Greek Kitchen, Ono Poké, and Royal Farms Chicken. New additions in recent months are Watershed, Atlas Fish Market, Southrn’ Spice, and Crepe Crazy.

There are currently five vacant stalls at Cross Street Market.
