Real Estate Brokerage ‘Compass’ Opening Office in Locust Point

Real estate brokerage Compass is under construction on a new office at Suite 104 and 108 at the Foundry on Fort Avenue in Locust Point. The approximately 4,000 sq. ft. space in the office complex was the former home of Studio 921 before the hair salon relocated to McHenry Row.

Compass, which is based in New York, entered the Baltimore market and is opening offices in Towson/Woodbrook and Locust Point. The Locust Point office has been operating out of temporary space at Mindgrub’s Mindhub in McHenry Row over the past year.

Compass’s team of agents includes The Jeff Washo Team, The Baldwin & Griffin Group, Charlotte Eyring, and Timmie Taff. The sales manager for the Baltimore offices is Ashley Hess.

The office space in the historic Foundry on Fort Avenue building has exposed brick, beams, columns, and ductwork, as well as polished concrete floors. It will have a reception area, multiple conference rooms, a kitchen, an open area, and six enclosed offices.

The office at the Foundry on Fort Avenue will open in January.

While some businesses have moved to a more remote workplace, Jeff Washo told SouthBMore.com he loves working out of an office. He said it’s a “collaborative environment” where agents can talk business and help link buyers with upcoming listings.

Washo said he made the move to Compass because it’s a “next-level company” that is “technology-driven.”

A spokesperson for Merritt Companies, the owner of the Foundry on Fort Avenue, told SouthBMore.com the office and retail complex is now 94 percent leased.
