A new Chesapeake Bay-themed mural has been added to the back of the new ExtraSpace Storage facility at 211 Stockholm St. in Stadium Area. The mural, called “Heron Blues,” is visible from the Light Rail tracks and I-395 heading north across Ridgely’s Cove of the Middle Branch of the Patapsco River.

The ExtraSpace Storage facility is a recently-repurposed building owned by Himmelrich Associates. The company is owned by Samuel K. Himmelrich, Jr. His nephew, Sam H. Himmelrich, designed and executed the new mural which features a large heron and different shades of blue and green. Sam H. Himmelrich is a graphic artist who recently graduated from the Savannah College of Art and Design.

Himmelrich Associates owns three other properties in the immediate area and is currently redeveloping the Spring Garden building at 175 W. Ostend St. to add additional office and retail space.
