Maryland State Board of Education Votes to End Mask Mandate

The Maryland State Board of Education voted last night 12-2 to remove the mask mandate at schools on March 1st. Local school districts are now able to adopt their own masking policies.

Baltimore City still has an indoor mask mandate and has not yet announced if it will be dropped. Baltimore City Public Schools has also not yet made an announcement about dropping the mask mandate.

As of Friday, masks became optional at Anne Arundel County Public Schools.
