Large Building in Casino Entertainment District Prepped for Demolition
1400 Warner St., a large warehouse and retail building in the footprint of Horseshoe Casino Baltimore’s Warner Street District, is being prepped for demolition. The one-story section of the building was recently home to sports bar Game. The three-story section was previously used as an artist space and a tailgating bar called Gameday Warehouse.
“The demolition of the structure at 1400 Warner Street is part of our ongoing plan to transform the corridor between Horseshoe Casino Baltimore and M&T Bank Stadium into the city’s next great entertainment district,” Horseshoe Baltimore Senior Vice President and General Manager Randy Conroy told SouthBMore.com in an email. “As progress continues at both the Topgolf and Paramount sites, removing the obsolete building at 1400 Warner Street will enhance the marketability of the lot as we advance our vision for South Baltimore.”
The master plan for the Warner Street District shows a hotel being built on the southern section of the property. A retail building is also planned for the northern end of the property.
The Horseshoe Baltimore ownership team of CBAC purchased the 1.47-acre property, including a 41,193 sq. ft. building, in 2018 for $4,237,000.
1400 Warner St. is across the street from the under-construction Topgolf which is slated to open in the fall. Just north of the property is the under-construction The Paramount Baltimore music venue. A 30,000 sq. ft. bar with a place holder name of Yards Social Bar is marketed to replace an industrial building at 1301 Warner St.
The renovation of the trail and park located behind Horseshoe Casino Baltimore’s parking garage and along the Gwynns Falls Trail is also currently taking place. This is part of the Topgolf project.
