Bruce Springsteen to Play at the New Baltimore Arena in April
Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band will be one of the first events at the newly-renovated Baltimore Arena. Springsteen announced his 2023 United States tour yesterday and it includes a stop in Baltimore on Friday, April 7th. This show is being marketed as the “grand opening performance” at Baltimore Arena.
Springsteen will make 31 tour stops in the United States before heading to Europe for a tour. Tickets will be available on Ticketmaster in the coming weeks.
Baltimore Arena is currently closed for renovations and will not reopen until the CIAA Men’s and Women’s Basketball Tournaments on February 20, 2023. The $150-plus million renovation by Oak View Group will modernize the arena, spruce up the exterior, and add additional seats.
The capacity will go from 12,289 for basketball games to approximately 15,000. The arena will have new seats and suites, refurbished concourses, upgraded concessions, improved acoustics, structural and mechanical upgrades, sustainable and energy-reducing upgrades, and new signage and lighting on the exterior.
The Bethesda-based Clark Construction Group is the general contractor on the project. The company has a Baltimore office at Stadium Square in South Baltimore. Clark Construction has set up an OxBlue construction camera in the interior of the arena.
Brisbin Brook Beynon is the architect and Intreegue Design is the landscape architect for exterior spaces.
