Chesapeake Fishing Open to Take Place in Port Covington on October 15th

The Chesapeake Fishing Open will take place at the Baltimore Yacht Basin in Port Covington on Saturday, October 15th. The event was originally scheduled to take place this Saturday.

The Chesapeake Fishing Open will begin at 7am. Participants will compete to see who can catch the biggest rockfish, catfish, snakehead, and white perch.

Registration is $75 per individual (with a maximum of six participants on one boat) or $450 for a six-person team.

The individual or team with the largest fish reeled in will win $4,000. There will also be $500 and $1,000 prizes awarded.

A shoreline cleanup will beĀ held by the Maryland Waterways Foundation on the day of the event.

The Chesapeake Fishing Open will also have fishing lessons for kids, filleting demos, and arts and crafts.
