Hotel Near Horseshoe Casino Baltimore Still “A Few Years Out”

While Topgolf opened last week and The Paramount Baltimore is slated to open next summer, a hotel for The Walk @ Warner Street is still “a few years out,” according to Horseshoe Casino Baltimore General Manager Randy Conroy. The Walk @ Warner Street is an entertainment-focused development, which connects Horseshoe Casino Baltimore to M&T Bank Stadium, on Warner St. in Stadium Area. It is being developed by Horseshoe Baltimore owners CBAC.

A large warehouse and retail building at 1400 Warner St. was recently demolishedThe master plan for the The Walk @ Warner Street shows a hotel being built on the southern section of the property. A retail building is also planned for the northern end of the property.

“It was important for us to get Topgolf and The Paramount up and running. Once those assets get going and we see what happens there, it will spur on additional development,” Conroy told SouthBMore.com. “It’s fantastic to get the ball rolling here, and we are excited to see where it will take us.”

“We also have the property at 1301 [Warner St.]. We are getting close to making some announcements there as well. A hotel would bring it all together,” added Conroy.

A 30,000 sq. ft. bar with a placeholder name of Yards Social Bar is marketed to replace 1301 Warner St. in the master plan.

Conroy said the hotel could be owned by the casino or a partnership with a brand name hotel. “We are meeting with folks now conceptually,” said Conroy. “It will be great to get something under construction in the next couple of years.”

Part of the Topgolf agreement with the Baltimore Development Corporation (BDC) was a plan for improvements to the adjacent trail and park located behind the casino’s parking garage and along the Gwynns Falls Trail and Ridgely’s Cove. Topgolf’s contractors began work on this project in January 2021 and the park space is now reopened to the public.
