CSX Transportation Purchases Curtis Bay Property

CSX Transportation has purchased 1920 Benhill Ave. in Curtis Bay for $1,850,000. The 3.6-acre parcel with two buildings totaling 23,000 sq. ft. is adjacent to an existing CSX property and train tracks.

The property was formerly owned by USALCO. CSX intends to demolish the existing buildings for future needs.

Andrew Meeder, senior vice president/principal of MacKenzie Commercial Real Estate Services, and David McClatchy, vice president of MacKenzie Commercial Real Estate Services, represented the seller in this transaction.

“This represented an opportunistic acquisition by the new owner as CSX Transportation recognized the unique chance to enlarge its operation which is situated directly adjacent to the property,” said Meeder in a press release.

“Small industrial/logistic sites in Baltimore City, especially those located along the waterfront, are increasingly difficult to come by and there are typically numerous bidders when properties become available,” added McClatchy in the release.
