Interior design firm Chambers is the first office tenant at the Baltimore Peninsula development in Port Covington. The company is in a 9,000 sq. ft. space at the Rye Street Market building. It relocated from Montgomery Park in Carroll-Camden Industrial Area.

Chambers Chairman of the Board Robert Hickman said the company looked all over the metro area for a new office space but was “hooked on Baltimore Peninsula” after taking a look four years ago. Hickman said they wanted something special and noted it is “a great location.”

Hickman said they are excited to have their own private terrace. He called this an amenity that is “nearly impossible” to find in the Baltimore area.

The office features a bullpen of cubicles, private offices and meeting rooms enclosed in glass, a kitchen, and private bathrooms.

Rye Street Market has common amenity spaces, including a gym and courtyard, and will have first-floor retail in the future.

Hickman said the office space is a bit of a downsize from its last space, but noted it feels bigger due to its “collaborative environment.”

Chambers was founded in Baltimore in 1899.
