Sinkhole Temporarily Shuts Down Alley in Riverside
From Riverside Neighborhood Association:
UPDATE from Nancy Mead, Councilman Costello’s Chief of Staff:
“I contacted the head of utility maintenance at DPW to get a status update on the repair. They have located the problem in the mainline, so now it’s a matter of expediting the repair.
I will continue to follow up. We have had requests for help from several neighbors.”
Original post:
Neighbors, please refrain from driving through the alley between 1600 Covington St and 1600 Belt St, and exercise caution if you must walk that way as well. Residents there are reporting an approximately 3’ deep sinkhole. 311 tickets have been submitted so that Baltimore City Department of Transportation can make repairs. It has also been shared with Councilman Eric T. Costello for escalation, and to make a plan for Friday’s Baltimore City Department of Public Works recycling collection. Please share with neighbors who may not be on social media. Thank you!
