Baltimore Museum of Industry Installs ‘Redefining Industry’ Exhibit on Key Highway

The Baltimore Museum of Industry (BMI) has installed an exhibit along the fence at Key Hwy. and Lawrence St. called Redefining Industry. This exhibit recognizes “individuals who are redefining industry with their work and pointing the way to a positive future for Baltimore.”

The exhibit features portraits by local photojournalist J. M. Giordano and quotes about industry from the honorees.

The honorees are:

● Chris Blume – Graduate Student, UMBC’s Interdisciplinary Consortium for Applied Research in Geography and Environmental Systems

● Scott Budden – Founder, Orchard Point Oyster Company

● Dr. Frances “Toni” Draper – Chair of the board and publisher, the AFRO American Newspapers

● Smitha Gopal – CEO, Rendia

● Laura Gamble – Regional President, Greater Maryland and Northeast Territory Executive, PNC Bank

● Janear Garrus – Director, Baltimore Children’s Business Fair

● Drew Greenblatt – President, Marlin Steel

● Ryan Lynch – President, The General Ship Repair Corporation

● Judy Neff – Owner, Checkerspot Brewery

● Jaime Windon – CEO and Founder, Lyon Rum

● Evan Woodard – Explorer, photographer, and historian

● Ireatha Leona Woods – Owner, Leona’s Sewing Studio

“Industry is about people–and this incredible group represents such an interesting variety of fields, from banking to bat research, media to maritime,” said  BMI Executive Director Anita Kassof in a press release. “They really are the future of industry in Baltimore.”

The exhibit was underwritten by PNC Bank. It will remain up through the end of 2023.
