Lidl Closes in Brooklyn Park
The Lidl grocery store at 5722 Governor Ritchie Hwy. in Brooklyn Park closed yesterday. The store, which previously took over a former Shoppers location at the Ritchie Highway Shopping Center, opened in December 2020.
From Baltimore Business Journal:
“After a thorough review of the performance of our store network, we made the difficult decision to close our store in Brooklyn Park on July 16,” [Spokesman Chandler Spivey] said, in an email to the Baltimore Business Journal Wednesday morning. “This was an underperforming location and we made the strategic decision to close this location so we can focus on the locations that are closer and more convenient to more of our customers and where we are seeing significant growth.”
Lidl, which is based in Germany, will soon open another location in Northeast Baltimore.
The Ritchie Highway Shopping Center added a Dairy Queen last summer.
