‘Docks on the Harbor’ Now Open at Power Plant

Docks on the Harbor opened in May at 621 E. Pratt St. at Power Plant. Docks takes over a restaurant space and floating patio that was formerly Dick’s Last Resort.

Docks is a new concept by a group of investors who have worked on restaurants for Guy Fieri and Gordon Ramsey. They also opened Sugar Factory locations. Docks is the group’s first restaurant in Maryland.

Docks has a sit-down restaurant inside with a formal menu and a “lounge vibe.” The patio has a casual “family-friendly” vibe with a more casual menu and its own kitchen.

The interior of Docks has an “island/ocean theme” with large trees made of flower arrangements, grass walls, multicolored lights, and backdrops for photos. The interior features a lot of white, black, purple, and pink. The hallway to the bathrooms is styled after a movie theatre with motion picture posters.

The menu at Docks includes land and sea items ranging from small plates to entrees, as well as a large selection of desserts. It also offers brunch items everyday from 11am t0 4pm.

Main menu items include sticky ribs, wings, lobster rolls, salmon BLT sliders, a lemon pepper fish sandwich, Cap’n Crunch encrusted chicken tenders, an Old Bay chicken sandwich, shrimp and grits, steaks, fish entrees, and pasta dishes. It offers the Tropical Seafood Paradise that is sauteed jerk salmon and shrimp, knuckle and claw lobster meat, peppers and onions, and pineapple fried rice served in an open-faced pineapple.

Brunch items include strawberry cream cheese stuffed French toast, monkey bread, chicken and waffles, lamb lollipops with eggs, and eggs benedict.

Desserts include sundaes, strawberry cheesecake, and the Fried Chicken which is ice cream cones shaped to look like fried chicken. It is vanilla ice cream with a peanut butter and chocolate shell that is encrusted with cornflakes.

Assistant General Manager Dan Focht said the restaurant’s decor and the way the food is plated is designed so guests will want to take pictures and share them to Instagram. He noted the social media site has led to a lot of customers.

The patio offers burgers, hot dogs, chicken sandwiches, cheesesteaks, wings, seafood sandwiches, and frozen drinks.

The cocktail menu includes four different espresso martinis, as well as fruity and chocolate-infused martinis.

Docks is open every day at 11am. The last reservations for food are at 9pm on Sunday to Thursday and 11pm on Friday and Saturday. The bar closes at 12am Sunday to Thursday and 1:15am on Friday and Saturday.

The interior has seating for 150 patrons.
