Harris Teeter Remains Closed as It Deals with Pest Issue
The Harris Teeter at McHenry Row in Locust Point closed last week because of a pest issue inside the store. The company released the following statement to WBAL on Thursday:
“Harris Teeter takes the health and safety of our valued customers and associates very seriously and has voluntarily chosen to temporarily close the McHenry Row location while we work to correct a pest issue. Out of an abundance of caution and to maintain the high standards Harris Teeter is known for, we have contacted both our professional pest control company and the Baltimore City Health Department to partner with us on sanitation and control measures. Additionally, we have implemented strict sanitation protocols, initiated a thorough cleaning and will maintain ongoing inspections. With this expansive mitigation programming, we anticipate reopening the store soon,” Danna Robinson said.
An employee of Harris Teeter told SouthBMore.com they have not yet been informed on a reopening date.
The Harris Teeter pharmacy is doing curbside pickup for prescriptions. The attached The Cellars beer and wine store remains open.
Harris Teeter is one of two grocery stores on the South Baltimore Peninsula as Giant opened earlier this year.
