Four New Office Leases at McHenry Row

| September 11, 2023 | 0 Comments

The team at 28 Walker has been busy signing new leases at its mixed-use complex McHenry Row in Locust Point. The new tenants are Subaru, RCM&D Insurance, GWWO Architects, and GPLA Inc.

Helm, a subsidiary of San Francisco tech company Stripe Inc., announced in 2019 it was leasing the entire 44,000 sq. ft. Liberty Building at 1214 E. Fort Ave. at McHenry Row and brining 200 jobs to the area. The company moved in 2020, shut the office down soon after when the COVID-19 pandemic hit, and eventually left the building.

With the Liberty Building almost vacant, 28 Walker signed two leases to fill the second floor of the building. GWWO Architects opened a 15,000 sq. ft. office in June, relocating from the Stieff Silver Building in North Baltimore. Structural engineering firm GPLA Inc., a California-based company, opened a 4,800 sq. ft. office.

Martin-Lauer Associates has an office on the first floor of the building, but much of the remaining footprint is vacant. 28 Walker is currently working on getting it re-leased.

In the Ramparts Building at 1500 Whetstone Way, Subaru of America signed a 3,000 sq. ft. office lease and RCM&D Insurance is leasing 6,700 sq. ft.

McHenry Row’s retail spaces remain full and the newest tenant, THB Bagelry & Deli, is expected to open this fall at 1606 Whetstone Way.
