‘1157 bar + kitchen’ in Locust Point Ends Its Regular Dinner Service

| October 5, 2023 | 0 Comments

After eight-plus years in Locust Point, 1157 bar + kitchen has decided to end its daily service. From its social media post announcing the news:

It’s with a very heavy heart and after much consideration that I’ve decided to end regular dinner service at 1157. We will continue to be available for private parties and pop ups, but after nearly nine years we are unable to continue daily service. I couldn’t have asked for a better core staff or neighborhood to exist in. It’s been a rather rough few years and this is the best decision for us. I thank you all for the love and support we’ve received along the way. Our last night of service will be 10/14!

It’s emotional for all of us, but we look forward to saying goodbye!

This adds to a list closures and changes that are limiting the dining options in Locust Point. Serenity Wine Bar and Cafe closed last month; Iron Rooster announced last month it is temporarily closed, though the Iron Rooster sign was removed from the building last week; and The Last Penny recently ended its food service, sticking to its cocktail bar format.

The former The Port Public House and JR’s Bar & Grill at 1229 Hull St. bar space has remained closed since 2020. A concept by Digital Bay Center was announced in 2022, but renovations have yet to begin.

Conversely, Limoncello Pizzeria will open soon at Anthem House in Locust Point and Quickway Japanese Hibachi opened in recent weeks at Southside Marketplace in Locust Point/Riverside.
