Around 9am this morning a dark cloud of smoke began rising from the Inner Harbor as multiple boats caught on fire at the Anchorage Marina in Canton. No injuries have been reported.

From Baltimore City Fire Department:

Baltimore City Fire Department battled a large fire involving two 55’ vessels at the Anchorage Marina in Canton (SE) Baltimore this morning.

Units arrived on location to find heavy fire and smoke conditions coming from multiple vessels docked at the marina. Concerns were raised when reports surfaced about propane tanks being on one of the vessels.

Due to the vessels proximity, firefighters battled the fire for nearly an hour before one vessel sank.

Fortunately, there were no reported injuries to civilians or firefighters in mitigating this incident.

We were fortunate to have a multi-jurisdictional response to aide in the management of this incident; Maryland Department of the Environment (MED), Department of Natural Reaources Police (DNR) and the US Coast Guard.

From WJZ Baltimore:

A boat owner told WJZ that a fire started at one boat and spread to another boat that was shrink-wrapped. One of the boats had submerged.
