Timing Changed on Traffic Signal at Conway and Sharp Street

From Councilman Costello:

UPDATE: Intersection of W Conway St and S Sharp St

Our office received some concerns with the timing of the traffic signal at the intersection of W Conway St and S Sharp St and reached out to DOT to come up with a solution.

On Monday, Jan 29, DOT spent a few hours monitoring the traffic signals. As the S Sharp St traffic increased it caused queuing in the W Conway St lanes for the turning traffic heading westbound to I-95 / I-395. DOT changed the offsets to the traffic signal to allow more time for the traffic to clear from S Sharp St to S Howard St and the effect of this change allowed the intersection of W Conway St and S Sharp St to stay clear between signal changes, eliminating the queuing that was forming from the S Sharp St traffic in both directions.
